Our professional chapter advisor, Barbra Kamer, recently discovered that she has been re-diagnosed with breast cancer. Barb is a 12-year breast cancer survivor, and this news has been devastating, to say the least.
Now is the time to show our support for Barb! There are so many ways you can do this. First and foremost, go to the Johnson County American Cancer Web site, and look for Barb’s name on the participant list. Click on it, and read her blog about her progress on her Relay For Life page. You can even leave a comment if you wish. Also, participating in Relay For Life (on PRSSA’s team or another one) is a great way to support all people with cancer. If you can’t make it, you could always donate a few dollars if you want to!
Finally, make sure you are getting regular medical check-ups. It sounds crazy because we are so young, but Barb was only 29 when she was first diagnosed with cancer. The best thing you can do for yourself is to catch things early.
With best wishes and support to Barb,
The James F. Fox PRSSA chapter
